As we work with CMOs at over 5,200 companies, we’ve realized that CMOs find it challenging to effectively use digital marketing. Our review of existing web sites and publications showed that existing content provides limited help in making this transition. While these sources of marketing content offer value, much of the content it is written for manager-level practitioners, not for senior marketing executives. Sites are often cluttered, have poorly organized content, or provide fee-only access. Additionally, their focus on a limited range of topics forces readers to visit multiple sites to be fully informed.
We realized that CMOs do not have the time or resources to do stay informed with these tools. Yet, CMOs tell us their need for relevant insight is imperative—and increasing. So, in August 2009 we launched CMO.com to fill their unmet need. CMO.com is a demonstration of Adobe's commitment to helping CMOs lead their companies in a digital world.
